Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Wifi Vault ("the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use the Wifi Vault iOS application — a local vault for your Wi-Fi passwords with QR sharing.

1. Information we process

a. Your vault data — on your device

The Wi-Fi networks you add — including the network name (SSID), your chosen place name, security type, category, notes and the passwords — are stored only on your device. Passwords are kept in the iOS Keychain; the rest is held in a local database. There is no account, and we do not receive or upload this data. Deleting the app removes it.

b. Push notifications — Firebase Cloud Messaging

If you allow notifications, we use Firebase Cloud Messaging (a Google service) to deliver occasional messages. Firebase assigns your installation a push token and processes basic device information to deliver these messages. We never include your saved networks or passwords in a notification. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings, and the app works fully without them.

c. Attribution & marketing measurement — AppsFlyer

We use AppsFlyer to understand which marketing source led to your install and to measure installs and sessions. AppsFlyer processes device identifiers and install/session events. If you grant tracking permission, this may include the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA).

d. Diagnostics

We may receive aggregated, anonymised crash and performance data to keep the app stable.

2. App Tracking Transparency

iOS asks your permission before the app can track you across other apps and websites. If you deny, AppsFlyer will not use the IDFA. Wifi Vault works exactly the same either way — no feature is gated behind it. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

3. Third-party services

The services below process data on our behalf; their own policies apply:

• Google Firebase (push notifications) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
• AppsFlyer (attribution) — appsflyer.com/legal
• Apple (App Store) — apple.com/legal/privacy

4. How we use information

• To let you save, organize and share your Wi-Fi networks on your device.
• To send notifications you have opted into.
• To measure the effectiveness of our marketing.
• To keep the app secure and stable.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data retention

Your vault data stays on your device until you delete it in the app or remove the app. Data held by our providers (Firebase, AppsFlyer) follows their standard retention periods.

6. Children

Wifi Vault is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Your choices

• Your networks — add, edit or delete any saved network at any time.
• Notifications — turn off any time in iOS Settings.
• Tracking — deny or revoke in iOS Settings.
• App lock — require Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode in the app's settings.
• App data — delete the app to remove all local data, including passwords.
• Requests — email us with any question or request about your data.

8. Security

Passwords are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device. Any requests to our providers are sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the limited data we process.

9. International users

Our providers may process data on servers outside your country. By using Wifi Vault you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
